Jenny Lou Blackwell, age 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. She was born April 21, 1941 in Houston, TX to Jack and Geraldine Granger.
A native Houstonian, Jenny graduated from C.E.King High School in 1959. She married her husband Jerry in 1961 and settled in Sheldon where they raised their 4 children. Jenny worked for Sheldon ISD, first at Sheldon Jr High then C.E.King high school, for 20 years. She and Jerry loved spending time with their family at their "Big Pond" on Toledo Bend and Jenny traveled the country and the world with friends in the years following Jerry's death. But Jenny was most known for her loyal devotion to the Houston Astros, whom she had followed since childhood. The recent World Series win was the last item on her bucket list.
Jenny was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wayne Blackwell and her parents, Jack and Geraldine Granger.
She is survived by her sons, Johnny and Michael Blackwell; daughters, Angela Liollio and husband, Dean and Felicia Gann and husband, David; grandchildren, Cody Blackwell, Joshua Blackwell, Jacob Blackwell, Casey Blackwell and wife, Jordyn, Tanner Blackwell, Stephanie Liollio, Steve Liollio, Sophia Liollio and Alton Gann; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Blackwell and Easton Blackwell and her brother Paul Granger.
The family will receive visitors at Navarre Funeral Home at 2444 Rollingbrook Dr. Baytown, TX 77521 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018. With services to follow at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Brookside Cemetery in Houston, TX.
Her children would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Lakehouse on Dixie, Resolutions Hospice and the Grace Family Church for their incredible care and support of Jenny over the past year.
