Lee Ardis arrived in this world on May 10, 1972 in Sumter, South Carolina. He left this planet on August 11, 2017 in Houston, Texas to travel to another galaxy far, far away. Unfortunately he forgot to tell his beloved mother, Connie, in Clear Lake, Texas that he was leaving. He also leaves behind his father Larry Ardis and his grandmother Esther Ardis of Sumter, South Carolina, his uncle Neil Johnston and aunt Leslie McDonald and her husband Lee McDonald of Atlanta, Georgia. Those who traveled before Lee are his beloved grandparents, Lt. Col (USAF ret.) Marshall Neil Johnston and Rosemary Johnston of Shalimar, Florida and Roy Ardis of Sumter, South Carolina.
Lee graduated from Ross Sterling High School in Baytown Texas and was a very proud graduate of the University of Houston with a BBA in accounting. He was also a member of Sigma Chi fraternity, Lee spent the majority of his career specializing in international tax. He currently was employed by Oceaneering, Inc.
Lee was a kind and generous soul with a great big heart. He valued each and every friend he made, especially Justin and Julie, Steve and Megan, Jason, James, Erin, Mike and Bryan. His close friend Steve so aptly described Lee when he wrote “whip smart and twice as passionate, a more loyal and caring friend you cannot find. He loved SciFi, beautiful women, drinking scotch, good TexMex and talking politics. He pulled for Houston teams, adored his mother, loved to laugh and reminisce. Some say his life was cut short…….I believe it is just beginning.”
A memorial service for Lee will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook, Baytown, Texas with Rev. Mark Stafford officiating.
