Emelie Duplechin Perio, 81, of Mont Belvieu passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012 in Mont Belvieu. She was born December 13, 1930 in Cecilia, Louisiana to her late parents, Henry and Eloise Pontiff Duplechin. She moved to Port Arthur, Texas when she married Ulgere "U.J." Perio, Jr. in 1948 then moved to Baytown in 1971, where she lived for over 40 years before moving to Mont Belvieu. Emelie and U.J. were married almost 56 years and were past members of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Emelie worked for many years at TG&Y, in the fabric department and retired from Gulf Coast Hospital as an insurance billing clerk. She also was a past member of Legion of Mary and Knights of Columbus Women's Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Russell, Wilbert, Paul and Ray Duplechin and a granddaughter, LaDonna Michelle Perio.
Survivors include her children, Catherine Perio Nelson and husband Gary, James Perio and wife Donna, Nedra Perio Douty and husband Larry, Eric Perio and wife Cindy, Barbara Perio Hinojosa and husband Tony, Terry Perio, Darlene Perio Deen and Kent Perio; Grandchildren, Bradley Bonin and wife Shawna, Brandy Bonin Miller, Bridgett Bonin Carusso and husband Chad, Candy Perio Jones and husband Chad, James Perio, Joshua Perio, Amanda Baker Sellers and husband Shaun, Codi Baker Beane and husband Brandon, Amy Hinojosa, Jason Hinojosa, Matthew Hinojosa, Nathan Perio and wife Jennifer, Shawn Perio, Kara Deen, Travis "T.J." Deen and wife Colleen, Ryan Perio, Chelsea Perio and Delaney Perio; great-grandchildren, Shana and Derrick Bonin, Brooke and Bailey Miller, Alexis, Cameron and Tyler Carusso, Dillon Perio, Trevor Jones, Luke Perio, Leo and Virginia Perio, Coleson and Evan Street, Peyton Sellers, Emelie and Sebastian Beane, Kaleb Perio, Haley and Mayson Perio, Quinn and Capri Anderson and Tristan Deen; great-great-grandchildren, Lilly and Gordon Perio; sister, Elsie Jane Guidroz; brother, Harold Duplechin and wife Debbie; numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, friends and relatives.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sue Trick, longtime friend and caregiver for without her constant and never ending dedication and compassion for Mrs. Perio, we would all suffer a great loss.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Navarre Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited starting at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012 at the funeral home with Deacon Gene LeBlanc officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 4, 2012 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Mont Belvieu with Father Khahn Ho and Deacon Gene LeBlanc officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Baytown.
Pallbearers will be Brad Bonin, James Perio, Jason Hinojosa, Nathan Perio, Shaun Sellers and Ryan Perio. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Perio, Matthew Hinojosa, Shawn Perio, T.J. Deen, Larry Cable and Brandon Beane.
